Newell talks to SWBNO Executive Director Ghassan Korban and Greater New Orleans Foundation President and CEO Andy Kopplin about a new collaborative public awareness campaign between GNOF, SWBNO and the City of New Orleans
On Tuesday, Sewerage and Water Board Chief Ghassan Korban said, “It’s no secret we face challenges when it comes to managing storm water.The drainage system is amazing for it’s size and ability, but it’s old drains clog, pumps break, and generators wear out”
Just yesterday the Sewerage and Water Board announced a new campaign to get residents to help in the flood fight.

Fast downpours seem to be overwhelming the aging draining system more frequently and the Sewerage and Water Board admits it will take time to make needed improvements.
On Tuesday, the Greater New Orleans Foundation (GNOF) in partnership with the City of New Orleans and the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO) hosted a live stream press event in front of the planter box at the Treme Recreation Community Center, to announce the launch of the “Every Drop Makes a Difference,” public awareness campaign.
